Curriculum
BALLET
– Classical training which teaches the ISTD syllabus. The core
structure for any dancer, helping to develop technique, strength &
alignment. Students aged 2+
CONTEMPORARY
– Teaches the basics of Contemporary Dance using the
Merce Cunningham technique. Will help to strengthen requirements needed
for GCSE/AS level studies. Students and adults aged 13+
GCSE Dance
– A nationally recognised qualification. 2 year course
which teaches students choreography design & structure, performance
skills & safe dance practice.
JAZZ
– The class is structured and will therefore ensure children learn
about stance, posture, rhythm and musicality, but combined with their
favourite current music. Students aged 7+
MINI MODS
– An introduction to Modern Dance, teaching the basic rhythms
and movements necessary for Street, Disco and Pop dance. The class is
informal and has a huge fun element, encouraged by all the latest funky
tunes the children love. Students aged 5 - 9
MODERN
– Modern Theatre Dance defies a single permanent definition. This
is largely due to its ability to adapt, develop and evolve with the
changing fashion in dance. The children's work is based on natural
movements: walking, running, jumping and skipping. It is designed to
encourage an imaginative and rapid response from beginners.
MUSICAL THEATRE
– Vocal training, warm up and breathe control. Sing all your favourite
songs, from best loved Musicals and Films. Students aged 7+
TAP – Apart from being an essential skill for the professional dancer, tap
dance is one of the most enjoyable and rhythmic forms of recreational
dance.
TAP (ADULT) – Tap dance class, enhancing cardiovascular fitness and rhythmic
quality. A great fun class.
VOICE COACHING – Teaching children the correct technical
requirements essential to ensure they are properly prepared and nurtured
to sing with ease and confidence.
Students aged 7+
STREET JAZZ – Workshops are informal and fun. The class learn a new
routine that they can take home with them.
